Stretch marks appear on the breasts, buttocks and abdomen due to reduced elasticity of the skin, especially during pregnancy or with significant body weight fluctuations (repeated cycles of weight loss and weight gain).

Bedsores are caused by prolonged, continuous pressure on specific parts of the body.

Most at risk are frail and weak individuals who spend most of their time sitting or lying down (either due to aging, illness or injury). Due to poor blood circulation, the skin can become severely reddened and small or large/deep wounds may develop. The most commonly affected areas are the nape, head, shoulders, shoulder blades, elbows, spine, hips, tailbone, knees and heels.

Cellulite (orange peel skin) occurs due to changes in the subcutaneous connective tissue. In addition to genetic predispositions, the formation of cellulite is often amplified by the skin’s loss of elasticity, metabolic disorders, smoking and alcohol. The formation of cellulite is closely linked to subcutaneous fat. The more fatty tissue we have, the more pronounced the cellulite – the fat pockets bulge due to loose connective tissue. Cellulite most commonly appears on the thighs, buttocks, abdomen and upper arms.

In addition to genetic predispositions, the following factors have the greatest impact on skin health: exposure to UV radiation (excessive sunbathing, tanning beds), chemical toxins, smoking, alcohol, poor diet, insufficient fluid intake, lack of rest, stress and aging.
